I’m not much of one for toys, but I’m excited about this one. I’ve been a fan of Andy Jenkins’ artwork, in particular his Lettus Bee comic strips, for about…geez, 15, 16, 17 years? All I know is it was a long time ago when I was a little tyke just starting out on a skateboard. Well, if you like Andy Jenkins, then you might want to get your hands on one of these from Upper Playground and FIFTY24SF Gallery.
Here’s the official press release:
Upper Playground and FIFTY24SF Gallery Announce the Arrival of Lettus Bee
The long anticipated limited edition toy by Andy Jenkins has arrived. FIFTY24SF, in association with Upper Playground has teamed up once again with Ningyoushi to deliver another toy that is sure to go fast. Lettus Bee is the novelty icon of the Wrench Pilot comic series from Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. The toy presents Lettus Bee in a painful face plant with his board suspended mid-air above his Lakai skate shoes. This vinyl toy is 10” x 9”. There were only 500 made, so don’t sleep on it. To see more toys and Upper Playground’s other new arrivals, visit www.upperplayground.com.
Looks like one is in the mail to me. I’ll post a photo once I get it.

All Hail …Lettus Bee …i have 2 wrench pilot strips from Transworld ( Circa 87) Framed and hanging on my wall .The simple style andy had of telling a story was a big infulence in my art work .One wrench pilot that stands out with me was of Lettus Bee having a simple slappy session on a curb and allong comes a big time skater pulling off mind blowing tricks….lettus looks on bewildered then returnes to his simple slappy session…..In my eye’s it’s not how good you are ….it’s the fun you are having at the time .
