Ever had an argument with a friend over whether being tall or short helps you be a better skater, or even do certain tricks better?
I’ve thought about this for years, and my conclusion is that within reason, it doesn’t matter much. The evidence is too hard to ignore.
1. Tony Hawk vs. Jake Brown. Tony is tall. Jake is short. They both rule on vert. Go figure.
2. Who’s the tallest street skater out there? I’m not sure. Nobody stands out as being super tall, but if you’re looking for the shortest one it’s probably Carlos de Andrade, unless you’re counting Wee Man. But you’ve got Carlos who’s amazing on street, and then you’ve got anybody else, Brian Anderson! Yeah, that guy’s tall. But they both seem to skate well despite their bodies being completely different.
Now I have to admit that while being short or tall doesn’t seem to make much difference when it comes to skating ability, one or the other might make a difference in appearance. I have to admit that Andrade sometimes looks a bit funny skating because he’s so stocky. But sometimes it looks cool. Just like BA, sometimes he looks a bit goofy but sometimes that lanky style makes a trick look so much better.
Oh well.

a lot of the best skaters with the best style are tall
BA, reynolds, gino ianucci, chris roberts, koston is 6ft. and so is appleyard and sarri is 6′2
i Skate Street And Im 6″4!
It dont matter how tall or short you are as long as your tru to the sport. I’m 5″10 and I skate street and am sponcerd but I have a friend whos 5″2 and lands 720 flips…so go figure.

Chris cole is 6.1 and hes amazin sos reynolds and other sk8ers who are tall they have bigger tricks and sk8 rails with no sweat, i’m 5.11 and am 18
