Everyone likes a comeback, as long as it’s a real one. Some comebacks in recent skateboarding history seem to have been relatively short-lived. Henry Sanchez comes to mind. The guy is incredible but it seems like he came back for about a year and then disappeared again. Now maybe all these guys are still out there killin’ it and having fun but would prefer to stay out of the limelight. If that’s the case, more power to ‘em. But for the rest of us, there’s no denying it would be nice to see more footage of some of our favorites.
If, like Professor Frankenstein, you could call any of our fallen kindred back from the grave of relative anonymity and give them back their superhuman powers to create great video parts, who would it be? Here’s my list, in no particular order.
1. Guy Mariano
2. Brian Lotti
3. Rudy Johnson
4. Natas Kaupas
5. Jovantae Turner
6. Gabriel Rodriguez
7. Ron Whaley
8. Tim Gavin
9. Chris Miller
10. Matt Hensley
11. Paulo Diaz
12. Ocean Howell
13. Marcus Wyndam
14. Pat Brennen (whoops, guess this won’t be happening, RIP)

Man you make it sound like they’re dead.
From the ashes(RIP):
1. Keenan
2.Pat Brennan – ollie Impossible lines
From Retirement:
1. Frankie Hill – hey didnt he have one just recently, can neone tell me where that is.
I skated with Pat Brennan a few times back in the day. He was at my house skating my mini-ramp with me the day I broke my arm. I went inside so my dad could take me to the hospital and Pat and the rest of the crew went out front to say good-bye to me as I left.
The thing is, I didn’t leave. My dad had just started finishing the wood floor in our house and refused to take me to the hospital until he was finished so that there wouldn’t be a line on the floor where he had stopped putting on finish and then started again.
Before you think my dad is a cruel man, you should know I had broken my arms twice previously and this was by no means the worst break (I had one that was compound, meaning it popped through the skin). He knew it wouldn’t hurt me to wait for 45 minutes.
Anyway, I saw Pat a while later and he told me that he and the other guys had waited out front and when I didn’t come out they figured my family was part of some weird religious cult that didn’t believe in going to the hospital.
I’m not sure it helped anything when I told him what had really happened.
Gator???
Wow! This may just be a normal list for some people, but for beginners like me, it would definitely be a dream come true watching skateboarding comebacks by Brian Lotti and Tim Gavin!!
