Gareth Stehr’s Go-Go Toe Jam DVD

In case you missed the boat, this DVD from Foundation comes free with the January 2006 issue of The Skateboard Mag, which I received yesterday, the 21st of November. Is there anything else in skateboarding that comes early?

And in case you didn’t know, they’re giving more DVDs away in the next two issues.

If you don’t subscribe to the Skateboard Mag you’re really missing out. I’m having a hard time keeping track of how many free DVDs I’ve received from them and I haven’t even had my subscription for a year yet.

But the topic at hand is Gareth Stehr’s Go-Go Toe Jam DVD. It’s a tour DVD with the Foundation team. That means Gareth Stehr, Corey Duffel, Leo Romero, Ethan Fowler, Mike Rusczyk, Matt Allen, Angel Ramirez, Tommy Gurrola, and some special guests.

Lots of park skating, skateshop demo setups, signins, and Corey’s tight pants. If he just got everything from his waist to his ankles tatooed black then he wouldn’t ever have to change his pants.

There’s nothing in the video I would say is absolutely amazing, but it is a half hour or so of tons of high quality skating. There’s a lot of stuff they could have held back for a video they’d be selling, but this thing is packed with quick edited footage. You know what I mean. Some videos are a half hour but have long runs, goofy stuff, and too much time before and after tricks. This is just trick after trick after trick, all edited quickly so that you probably get 2-3 times the footage you might from another video.

One problem I’m having is with the DVD itself. Whenever I fast forward or try to skip a chapter it’s causing my software to shut down. Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue, but there may be some sort of problem with the replication.
